Law firm marketing

Marketing for Law Firms in Singapore

People with a legal problem search before they call. They search the problem, then the firm, then two or three other firms that came up on the way. Your marketing has to win that search without ever reading like an advertisement.

We do SEO, Google Ads and websites for law practices, and we write every word inside the publicity rules in Part 5 of the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct) Rules 2015.

Referrals still matter. They no longer close the matter alone.

Most firms were built on referrals from clients, colleagues and other professionals. That has not changed. What has changed is what happens next: the referred client looks you up, reads your site, and checks your Google profile before they pick up the phone.

Low volume, high value

Legal searches in Singapore are small in number. One instruction can be worth more than a month of retail sales, so traffic is the wrong measure. Enquiries and signed matters are the right ones.

An anxious, careful decision

A client facing a divorce, a dispute or a charge reads a lot before they call. Clear answers to their real questions build the trust that a slogan cannot.

Every word is regulated

Tactics that work for a retail business can breach the publicity rules. For a law practice, tone and accuracy are part of compliance, not a matter of style.

What the publicity rules mean for your marketing

The rules on law practice publicity are in Part 5 of the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct) Rules 2015. The Law Society's Practice Direction 6.2.1 gives worked examples. These are the points that shape what we write for you.

No misleading claims

Publicity must not be misleading (rule 44(1)(b)). The Law Society's own example: calling a practice a "leading family law practice" when it lacks that expertise. We do not use "leading", "best" or "top" unless you can prove it.

No unjustified expectations about results

Publicity likely to create an unjustified expectation about the results you can achieve can be misleading. We do not write promises about outcomes, recovered costs or win rates.

Fees: general, not price lists

The Law Society treats suggesting that other practices overcharge, or setting out price lists, as unbefitting the dignity of the profession. A general reference to fixed-fee arrangements is not improper. Detailed fee information belongs in your conversation with the client.

Practice areas must be described accurately

How a practice describes its areas of specialisation must follow rules 43(1)(a) and 43(2). We build practice-area pages around what you actually do, and we leave out matters you do not take on.

Information, not touting

Advertising through the press, TV or a website is not touting in itself. Direct, in-person solicitation is the risk the rules guard against. Search marketing works because the client comes to you with a question.

This section is general information, not legal advice. Your firm is responsible for its own publicity, so a lawyer at your firm approves every page and ad before it goes live. Last reviewed: October 2026.

Answer the legal question, not just the firm name

Clients rarely search for a firm by name until someone gives them one. They search their problem, in their own words. That is where most firms are missing.

Question-led articles

The questions you answer every week in a first meeting are the questions clients type into Google beforehand. Clear, accurate answers to them are the most reliable content plan a firm has.

Practice-area pages

One page per area you actually practise, explaining the process, the timeline and what the client needs to prepare. Factual and calm, which is also what the rules expect.

Lawyer profiles that machines can read

Admission, practice areas, appointments and publications, marked up so Google and AI answer engines can connect each lawyer to the firm and cite your expertise.

What we do for law firms

Practice-area SEO

Content and site structure built around the searches your clients make, so each practice area has one strong page instead of several weak ones competing with each other.

Google Ads for legal searches

Legal clicks are expensive and the qualified audience is small. Tight targeting, heavy negative-keyword work, and ad copy checked against the publicity rules before it runs.

Google Business Profile

A complete, accurate profile for each office, so the firm shows correctly on Google Maps when a client searches for a lawyer nearby.

Websites that respect the reader

Fast, clear and easy to use on a phone, with an obvious way to make an enquiry. No pop-ups, countdown timers or pressure tactics.

Reporting on enquiries, not clicks

We track form enquiries and calls separately and report the cost per real enquiry. You own the ad accounts and the dashboards.

Your sign-off on every word

We draft, a lawyer at your firm approves. Nothing about your practice goes live without your review.

Questions law firms ask

Can a law firm advertise on Google in Singapore?

Yes. The Law Society's guidance says advertising that does not involve direct, in-person solicitation is not touting. The ad must still comply with Part 5 of the Professional Conduct Rules: accurate, not misleading, and not unbefitting the dignity of the profession.

Can we show client reviews on our website?

Treat them with care. A review that creates an unjustified expectation about results can make your publicity misleading. We check each one against the rules and flag anything doubtful for your review before it is used.

Can we publish our fees?

A general reference to fixed-fee arrangements is not improper, according to the Law Society. Price lists, and any suggestion that other firms overcharge, are not appropriate. Detailed fee information is best explained to the client directly.

Who writes the content?

We research and draft it. A lawyer at your firm reviews and approves every page, article and ad before it goes live, because your firm is responsible for its own publicity.

How long before we see results?

Six to twelve months for meaningful organic movement, sooner in less competitive practice areas. Google Ads gives usable data within weeks. Most firms run both.
